dLook
Founded by Meg Tsiamis, dLook combines the features of an Internet Business Search Engine and web directory in one.
When we asked Meg what makes dLook different from some of the other directories, here are some of the features she mentioned:
- Our “QuoteMe!” quoting system (this is very popular) where a customer can select up to 10 businesses at a time to request a quote for a product or service,
- Our discount coupons which are included in a monthly email newsletter and displayed on our blog (updated daily)
- Monthly payment option ($49.50) which can be cancelled by giving 30 days notice (annual fee is $488)
- Premium listings can have four categories, keywords, and national coverage (if applicable)
- Our search which allows users to refine their search by kilometre radius from postcode, 2, 5, 10km….. up to the whole nation.
- Our smart keyword search that means if you search for “restrnt”, “plummer” or “doktor” you’ll get a result (we constantly add new variations)
- Advertiser interface (via login) so they can manage their own listings, quote requests and coupons
- Purpose built mobi site (dlook.mobi)
- Powering Vodafone’s Find and Seek function
- Rate and Review a business (powered by Rave About It - and introduced in May - 5 months before another prominent business directory)
Listing features
- Business contact details (phone, fax, address, URL, email, mobile)
- A Map (NOT a Google mashup)
- Company blurb
- Trading hours
- Payment types accepted
- Qualifications / affiliations
- Products and or services
- The coupon for premium listings
- All links are do follow (on free and premium listings)
There are two types of listings - free and premium. For more specifics, their Advertising page lists the differences, but in a nut shell a premium listing gives four categories, keywords, search priority, unlimited radius (to national level where appropriate), coupons included in the coupon page and mailout and more.
