Founded in 2007, local.com.au is an Australia-wide business directory (with one of the best domain names I’ve seen for a local directory).
Ron Brewster, the founder and director of local.com.au explains how this directory differs from some of the others:
Unlike the “major” directories, local does not list all business with simply name address and contact details. We understand that consumers are trying to research product or services and
need to be able to be directed to more information &/or a detailed website. Consumers aren’t interested in what’s in their postcode, but are prepared to deal with business within their “region”.
The site offers both Free and Premium Listings, which start from $1 per day. Premium Listings allow you to add photos and video (for an additional fee).
