In short, RAYV is an online community and business review directory. We consider ourselves unique from other online business directories because:
- We are a community site. Our focus is on local residents and giving them the opportunity to share their experiences and meet other locals who have similar interests (the power of word of mouth marketing). For this reason we give your users their own profile page (www.rayv.com.au/profile/anil), allow them to make friends, message each other, post to discussion boards, and plan events (the last three are launching early next week). And of course, this allows others to visit the site and get trusted recommendations when they’re looking for any type of business, whether it’s a hair salon or a mechanic (we’ll be launching 6 new top level categories by March 15).
- To support #1, RAYV will hold a number of offline events/parties in the community where our member base can meet each other in person. We’re not just a website.
- We provide a ‘compatibility’ rating and don’t allow anonymous reviews. We don’t have usernames either. You need to be willing to back up your review, and people can easily tell who the real community reviewers are and which ones are just one off reviews from people who aren’t really participating. This ensures that the reviews are actually helpful and reliable, and you can determine if the review is relevant to you (does the reviewer share the same interests I do when looking for a particular type of business).
- Fun, clean, and easy to use (not riddled with online advertising).
