Two new directories have been added to StartListing – Suncoast Connect and local.com.au.

TrueLocal.com.au Launches Ratings and Review Feature
On Monday the 15th of October 2007, TrueLocal.com.au launched a new ratings and review feature.
Ratings and Reviews enables your customers to add a rating against your TrueLocal business listing, write reviews about their experience and share their views with likeminded people.
Your business listing in the search results will now display:
- the average rating and the number of ratings your business receives
- up to 70 characters of text with the most recent customer review listed first
Your business details page will include the complete list of customer reviews, including any of your responses or own reviews.
They have also taken the opportunity to enhance their search results pages and make further product improvements. For the first time TrueLocal.com.au Servicing The Area listings will automatically be shown whenever a search is carried out.
Substantial changes have also been made to the Business Details Page. Designed to maximise the impact and cut-through of your business information.

AussieWeb is finding staff with MyCareer

As we continue to mine data and pricing for various local directories, we have now added further details for TrueLocal.
Whilst we are able to source some information, we are always seeking first-hand feedback, reviews and other useful information from people who have used TrueLocal’s services.

White Pages Listing Pricing Model
This week we’ve created a Business Directory Profile of Sensis White Pages who are arguably the largest business directory online and print publication in Australia.
We’ve been hard at it mining for information to help you decide the best Australian business directory. Prices are a definite place to start, on top of that we’re hunting general customer statistics and reviews. Why focus on local Australian search?
I’m Peter Newsome and like Michael, I’m also a co-founder and contributing writer for Start Listing.
Locally focused search has been around for a number of years, both internationally and here in Australia, but there has never been a greater focus on local search than now. This was recently re-enforced when Google formed a partnership with Rupert Murdoch’s company, News Corporation (owners of TrueLocal) earlier this year. Whilst the larger players are gaining press coverage, there are still a lot of smaller, high quality business directories that have been embracing Australia’s booming local online search market without all the accolades.
At Start Listing, we don’t discriminate – it doesn’t matter whether you’re as big as Google or a much smaller niche directory – if it provides benefit to the Australian Search Market, we’ll be reporting on it.
